3 Easy Tips To Care For Your Stockings / Tights
Proper maintenance and care for your stockings & tights is essential for extending the lifespan of your hosiery, whether you opt for nylon tights or sheer stockings. By following a few simple care for your stockings guidelines, you can keep your legwear looking its best for longer.
First and foremost, regarding care for your stockings, always check the care for your stockings instructions provided by the manufacturer. Different types of stockings may require different methods of care, so it’s important to follow the specific guidelines. Typically, nylon tights can be machine-washed on a delicate cycle, whilst sheer stockings may need to be hand-washed to avoid snags or tears, although as an alternative, you can always pop your stockings inside a laundry wash bag and then machine wash them on a delicate cycle.
Secondly, when washing your stockings, use a mild detergent and lukewarm water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach, as they can damage the fabric. Gently agitate the stockings in the water, taking care not to twist or wring them.
Third, after washing, squeeze out any excess water and lay the stockings flat to dry. Avoid hanging them up, as this can cause stretching and distort the shape. If you’re in a hurry, you can gently roll the stockings in a clean towel to remove excess moisture before laying them flat.
